My rectifier socket got problem, accidentally, the one of the pin was broken yesterday. So I fill this weekend to repair it. Since I used to use Octal and B4 based, why don’t I put two sockets to simplify my life? Yeah, why not?

With the help of my drill and hole-saw, I drill two holes on a piece of acrylic. It’s true that with right equipment, you can get a nice result. Below is the result of both socket mounted on the acrylic. I use cheap socket first, since this is most likely only for fun.

Today, I design the power supply module for my tiny amplifier project (check here and here for detail).

The power supply are divided into three modules. One is for the 4x TBA820 (I stack 2 bridge diode to provide 3A current), the other two are for the tube “high voltage” section and the MP3 Player (source). The power supply for the MP3 Player should be regulated with LM317. I will add this one later.

My tiny newborn amp will not be alone. I will add a low voltage tube buffer as a nice companion. I just finish the module today. Powered by Russian 6N1P tube and Russian K40Y capacitors. Some of the circuit inspired by my colleague, AW from Tubelover Indonesia.

Ok, my newborn saw the world for the first time about 5 days ago, and I haven’t finished his first gift

The main idea is to create an active speaker, powered with Quad Amplifier TBA820, onboard MP3 Player, and low voltage tube buffer.

I have finished the Quad Amplifier module as shown below.

I don’t use a real high-end parts, just some parts available on my bin and some newly purchased. Well, I don’t go with premium parts for this small project, but I don’t play cheap anyway.
