Hi,
You mean Jensen Copper Tube and Duelund in one system (let's say as a interstage inside one amp)? I would pick Mundorf S/G/O or VCap combined with either Jensen or Duelund. Since both S/G/O and VCap has "similar" sonic (as Jensen and Duelund), so both S/G/O or VCap with Jensen or Duelund would combined well. Perhaps Jensen + Duelund would combine well also, but I don't know.

I think, if you really ask me, I would pick Mundorf S/G/O combined with Duelund. S/G/O first, Duelund last. This will be the best combination I believe.

I just pick the best capacitor on this battlefield. Like why I didn't pick VCap OIMP instead of TFTF or Mundorf Silver/Gold or Silver/Oil instead of Silver/Gold/Oil?

And off course, money is also an object here... as I bought all of them in "standard" price, no discount or whatever from my supplier. So basically no need to buy something considered as 2nd grade from the vendor, right?

Yes, tonality different for sure. It seems Jensen more focused on mid/vocal, while with extra resolution, Duelund has better mid-high.
I could say, Duelund has more complete sonic frequency, while Jensen a little bit lacks of high harmonics. I think this only happens if you compare directly both of them.

Thanks.

Great read Jimmy!

I was just trying the Jensen Copper Paper Tube and was just going to use the word swing in my post but I see you already have. Accurate description!

Just looking for some advice. If you where going to use a combination of Jensen Copper Paper Tube and Duelund where would you pony up? (first and last cap?)

I also wonder why you did not try Duelund VSF? Was it the voltage reason or more $ on more caps. Would have been interesting to see where they fit. I have one coming in 400v. Once you get to 630v I guess the choice is Jensen or CAST.

Did you notice a tonality difference from Jensen and Duelund or just resolution?

Hi,
Actually, most of us, use the capacitor to give "coloration" of the sound (and we love the coloration).
So basically there is no "best" without it. Just like tubes, we pick tubes which we love the sound (like most pick 300B over EL34).

I believe, it's very easy to distinguish the different of the sound. Not a matter of price. Even with my eyes closed. FYI, some of the audience were not informed which capacitors currently used, but most of them prefer the Jensen and Duelund.

Like VCAP and Mundorf S/G/O, at around near US$ 300 and around US$ 200 a pair, both are definitely on the top list of expensive capacitors, but I absolutely don't really prefer the sound of VCAP or S/G/O in our testing system (read more the entry, I have explained why). It could be good on other system, but just not on my test jig. Even the cheaper Jensen Paper Tube (around US$ 160/pair) does better. So? Definitely it's not a matter of price.

Yes there are many option beside a capacitor. Are we talking about LOT or OCL one? :) But this time, we just limit the scope on those capacitors comparison (and you are forced to pick and rate them - you can't say the best is without it). And for now, I pick Duelund. For less money, I pick Jensen Paper Tube.

My respect to you to,
Thanks.

Interesting supervision. Thanks!
I will dare to notice. The best capasitor in a signal way - its this absence.
It can be made different ways.
Especially, when it is a question about USD800.))
At this price you already presume to yourselves the best interstage transformers in the world).
For example any of special series TAMURA.

My respect, VU
