Nice article. I totally agree. People must remember that all CDs are 16bit 44.1khz. They might be mastered in much higher resolution; however, this does not necessarily make for a good recording. There are a lot of factors that make a CD sound good, and one huge factor is the conversion of the master tape into digital (basically fed into a computer). This part of the process has hurt more albums than anything (at least this is what JVC recording engineers say).

Hi,
Sangaji owner (Mr. Sandy) is my good friend. I knew him and his recording. It's very good quality for its price. Compared to most China recording, I can say that his recording is better (more analogue).

He started recording quite long ago. His early recording was not too good, but his last 2-3 years recording was improved a lot. I have some of his recording.

Thank you.

Hello Pak Jimmy,
Interesting site and write up!
I am a Malaysian but frequents to Indonesia due to work.
I bought a few Sangaji Music CDs which are marked 'High Resolution' which sounded well detailed and balanced on my audio system. Most of their numbers are Jazz which I like. BTW, their price is kinda highish in the 80,000 rupiah region per CD.
What is your personal opinion on this if you have heard them?
Thank you for your time. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for this article. I was reading an article and it had the word "audiophile" in it. I had never heard of this term and looked it up in the popular engines, but after reading this page, I have a better understanding of what it is...I guess.
