LOL, I was over thinking. I just hooked it up to my normal A/V selector and it works correctly. Basically instead of going to 2 inputs and 1 output, I have it as 1 input going out as 2 inputs. Wow, as you can see from my time of posts, I wasted a good 30 minutes!!!!

Hey, thanks for this post. This is exactly what I just ran through my head as I brainstormed what I am trying to do. I have an old-school VCR with only 1 output. So I have one RCA cable (red-yellow-white) coming out of the VCR. Now, for the majority of the time, I want that cable to go straight to the TV so it is easy for my wife to play a VHS tape for my 5-year old. But, I also want to have this VCR plugged into my new DVD Recorder so I can start transferring our home movies to DVD. So my question is, where can I find a Splitter that in essence works in reverse from all of the standard A/V Selectors so that I do not have to pull out this VCR and manually switch the cables to the correct source...especially focusing on what would give me the best picture quality as I record to DVD??? Can I simply "reverse" my "cheap" little A/V Selector to get this to work so I only have to push a button? Thanks for any reply (especially given the fact that I should "TRASH" my VCR in the first place, lol!!)
